It is with a lot of excitement that we can announce Generationals first ever tour of Europe this summer. They will visit Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, France, England and Ireland on their eighteen-date tour. Choice Prize nominees Windings will join them as special guests for four of their UK dates.
We’re delighted to announce that Grant Hart is returning to these shores in June to play eleven shows around the country before heading over to the UK to play a twelfth gig in London.
The tour will precede his new album The Argument (released on Domino Records in July) and while his melodic and absorbing re-telling of the Fall from grace will bring plenty of Hell-fire in its grooves, it won’t be the only fire lit under the artist. Backing band The Burn/Burning (an all-Irish Lineup consisting of Colm O’ Herlihy, Simon Dargan, Dan Walsh and Diarmuit Mac Cárthaigh) will provide a strong support to the consistently strong Hart, whose artistic path has always been nothing short of revelatory.

Trailer for Every Everything – The Life and Times Of Grant Hart, directed by Gorman Bechard:
The Altered Hours‘ new single Sweet Jelly Roll will be released on April 29th on A Records. The track had its premier on French music and cultural website Crumb Magazine, who said “this song is beautiful: five intense minutes of voluptuous psychedelia and delicate intoxicating melodies”.
After spending an intense four days supporting legendary San Franciscan psych-rockers White Hills earlier this month, the band are now readying themselves for their own Irish tour, and will be hitting all four corners of the isle in support of the release.
The Dudley Corporation release their 4th album – and first in 5 years – next month. Everyone Does Everything Wrong is available for pre-order now (see here) and its release will be followed by a 4-date Irish tour, with Jogging supporting them for all shows.
Word of Mouth, in conjunction with Plugd Records, will be presenting their Cork date at the TDC in the Triskel Arts Centre, Friday May 17th.
The Altered Hours have been confirmed for all of White Hill’s Irish tour in April.
The dates are:
Weds 3 April – Cork, Cyprus Avenue Thurs 4 April – Limerick, Bourke’s Bar Fri 5 April – Dublin, Grand Social* w/Twin Kranes Sat 6 April – Belfast, Auntie Annie’s
This tour will precede Altered Hours’ own Irish tour for their new single Sweet Jelly Roll, released April 29th on A Records (Brian Jonestown Massacre/Dirty Beaches etc).
O Emperor have announced details of the release of their second album.
Vitreous will be released on their own label, Big Skin Records on June 14th worldwide. Here is a promo video with a short clip of one of the new tracks:
Camden Crawl Dublin has announced its Irish artists for this year’s festival in May. The line up includes included Word of Mouth acts Low Sea, The Altered Hours, O Emperor and Windings. The festival will take place on May 3rd, 4th and 5th across 10 Dublin venues.
Visit the Camden Crawl website for ticket info and more announcements.
We are delighted to announce the lineup and tour dates for the Certain Three Tour 2013. The tour continues on the tradition of the last three years – where Word of Mouth curates a triple bill of three very different acts and sends them out on tour with an alternating running order for each show.
This year’s lineup will feature three home-grown Irish acts: electro-pop duo Nanu Nanu, lo-fi shoegazer Si Schroeder and the post-punk stylings of Trumpets of Jericho.
Windings released their new album I Am Not The Crow last Monday. With one side recorded in Hotel2Tango, Montreal and the other in County Donegal, the album has already garnered much praise from national press:
Easily one of the best Irish albums of 2012 State.ie
One of the least hyped yet most enjoyable albums of the year The Sunday Times
I Am Not The Crow is a late contender, surely, for the Choice Music Prize Day & Night Magazine (Irish Independent)
An impressively artful affair Hotpress
