BRIARS are an alternative/indie-folk band based in Cork City, Ireland. Their sound ranges from fragile subtlety to raucous energy, visiting every stop along the way, always underlined with a signature twist.
All six band members come from contrasting backgrounds, each bringing different influences to the table. This all comes together, resulting in something completely unique, with an emphasis on authenticity and originality. BRIARS play alternative contemporary folk with shades of indie, Irish trad, pop and punk.
Since their debut in 2023, the band has quickly gained ‘must-see’ status as a live act, appearing at high profile Irish festivals, such as Electric Picnic, Galway Folk Festival, Doolin Folk Festival and Cork Jazz Festival and sharing bills with the likes of The Scratch and The Wran.
Past releases have been aired on BBC Radio, RTE 2FM/Radio 1, and the band continue to be showcased on a national scale, including their recent Irish TV debut on Virgin Media’s ‘Six O’Clock Show’ and live performance on Today FM.
Their debut EP is set for release in February 2027.
